WHERE ARE LESSONS TAUGHT?

Lessons are taught in my studio on Mine Street in Flemington, NJ. On-location I have two learning spaces, one with a baldwin upright piano (for every day lessons), the other with a Knabe baby grand (for performance preparation). I have an extensive sheet music library, Yamaha PA system, multiple keyboards, guitars, and Shure microphones available, if needed. There is a sitting area available for parents. Zoom and Facetime lessons are also available as a flexible, convenient alternative to in person.

WHAT CAN I LEARN?

  • Proper singing/playing techniques

  • Music Theory and sight reading

  • Music history

  • Performance skills and microphone technique

  • Ear training

  • Audition/recording preparation

  • Songwriting and arranging

CAN I LEARN THE MUSIC I WANT TO LEARN?

I am all about student satisfaction, and I absolutely want you to work on songs you love. While every lesson will cover the fundamentals and techniques needed to be an effective musician, we will choose recital, audition and performance pieces together to ensure you’re excited about what you’re playing. Songs chosen will reflect what makes YOU sound best, with special attention paid to selecting age and level appropriate materials. I specialize in contemporary music styles (pop/rock, r&b, jazz, musical theater.), but also teach classical music as part of both voice and piano technique.

what ages do you teach?

Ages 4+ for piano, and 9+ for formal voice training.

how much are lessons?

In-studio lessons are $40/30 mins, $55/45 mins, and $70/60 mins. There are no contracts or lesson package commitments.

How are lessons billed?

Lessons are billed individually. I accept cash, check, venmo, and paypal.

IS THERE A CANCELATION POLICY?

Yes. Lessons must be canceled prior to 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time to avoid charge.

CAN I WRITE SONGS IF I DON’T PLAY PIANO?

You can, but I highly suggest all of my students learn (at least) some basic piano chords to begin composing successfully. Lyric and melody writing are things we can always work on, but having a music theory and instrumental foundation is essential.

DO I NEED TO OWN A PIANO?

Voice only students do not need a piano. Piano, composition, and piano/voice combination students need an instrument (piano or keyboard) at home.

CAN I LEARN PIANO AND VOICE IN THE SAME LESSON?

You can! One of my “specialities” is teaching students how to accompany themselves.

can i hire you for my wedding/event/recording session?

Absolutely! Please contact me for further information.
